JUDE AUGUSTA
Jude was born at St. John’s Hospital (now Saint’s Memorial) in Lowell, Massachusetts, and grew up in Tewksbury, MA as one of eight children in a 3 bedroom house (yes there were TEN of them them in there). They had very little, but did have a very loving family and the kindness of neighbors who would bring leftovers to the family’s home. Growing up with powdered milk and family struggles provided for a future of appreciation for family, friends, and the little things. Jude’s had too many jobs to list but started as a paperboy at age 10. After a couple retail jobs, Jude began college at Salem State and began delivering pizza in Tewksbury. After graduating with honors, he went to Seton Hall Law School in New Jersey and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. Jude continued on to get an MBA from Nichols College, with honors. After law school, living in the North Shore of Massachusetts, Jude went to work building startups and performing high-tech/Internetbusiness development and negotiations. In addition to working in startups, Jude’s worked at, Lycos, and is now in the “domain name” industry (premium website names such as RealEstate.com). Jude is presently a consultant for a domain name startup based in Kentucky called dnZoom. dnZoom is a company that allows members to manage their investment portfolios – of domain names. Jude moved to a little post and beam house in the New Hampshire Seacoast in 2001. He began investing Real Estate in 2004 and runs a company called ForeclosureFix.com [1]. Jude has three investment properties as of 2007. To diversify his assets with low-cost investments, Jude began buying and developing domain names and has a geo-targeted domain portfolio based around the New Hampshire Seacoast. Jude trademarked a beer called Seacoast Ale [2]. Survey takers from http://SeacoastAle.com have chosen Seacoast Ale as the most-sought after beer in the Seacoast and Seacoast Ale is currently accepting applications to utilize the Trademark from brewers. As The Seacoast is a developing area, Jude had begun buying and developing domains in a small Seacoast portfolio. Jude is an adjunct professor at Boston area colleges and presently teaches frequently for Endicott College [4]. Jude has been a full-time college professor, corporate telecom sales professional, a basement sealer, a roofer, a painter, an online marketer, head of a non-profit, and held a variety of other jobs. Jude is an uncle of 12 children. He was lucky enough to marry Kristin Augusta November 11th, 2006. Jude joined Rotary in 2004 where he is now on the Board. Jude is very fond of Rotary for the opportunities Rotary provides to “matter”: reading to children, providing snow-suits, ringing cheery bells for Salvation Army with friends, raising money for otherwise dire causes, cooking and serving those in need at soup kitchens, seeing elderly shut-ins smile when presented a poinsettia as a surprise Christmas present, etc. Jude feels Rotary makes him a better person, connects him to the community, and makes the tiniest improvement on this vast world. Jude’s hobbies: Riding the coast on motorcycles or in cars, enjoying views and antiquated places in New England, cooking, trap-shooting & bird hunting, boating, golfing, dominoes, Scrabble, snow plowing, and domain names.
