Conflict of Nations is a grand strategy computer wargame developed by Dorado Games. It was released on December 13, 2016. It is a real-time strategy game. The player may take control of one of many modern-day nations and lead it to victory against other players through diplomacy, administration, and war.

Gameplay

edit

Conflict of Nations revolves around modern warfare. A player may play as almost any nation in the modern day, although some nations are grouped together or are unplayable. To build up military might, a player must manage resources, infrastructure construction, mobilization, and military research. A nation's military may consist of any number of a wide variety of units that must be unlocked with research. These units include ground forces such as mechanized infantry and main battle tanks; air forces such as attack helicopters, air superiority fighters, AWACS, and ICBMs; and naval forces such as cruisers and aircraft carriers. In order to research and mobilize these units, various resources must be spent. These resources, which are produced in major cities, include supplies, components, fuel, electronics, rare materials, and money. Units also require infrastructure, which must also be build with resources. Each nation has a pre-assigned military doctrine that change the combat effectiveness and costs of several units.

The world is divided into small regions called provinces, which, when unified, make up a nation. Units can conquer these territories and engage in combat with units of other nations. A player may also form coalitions to aid in the final goal of world domination. War may be declared against any nation at any time, after which the conflict may be resolved through diplomacy or the conflict escalated into an invasion. Espionage is critical to the game as the location and makeup of other player's units are not known beforehand. After a nation is invaded, the morale of its provinces will be low and insurgencies may spawn if there are no units present in a city.

Premium resources may be bought with money that allow a player to heal their units, skip mobilization wait times, purchase resources, or conduct special espionage actions.
