Adele Every

Adele Every (nee Barchin) is a British businesswoman. She is the UK/I Managing Director for Public Sector at Cisco. In addition she is also a Trustee of NCUB (National Centre for Universities and Business), Northern Powerhouse International Trade Member, TechUK Board member for the Public Sector and Executive Advisor to the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. She was nominated for the Women in Tech Excellence award in 2024.

Early Life

Adele Leana Barchin was born in Stockton on Tees in August 1978, but raised from a young age in Cheadle, Cheshire. Her father Vicente Ismail Barchin-Segarra was originally from la Vall d'Uixó, near Valencia in Spain. In 1976 he met Elizabeth Anne Barchin (nee Astley) whilst on holiday. They later married and settled in the UK.

Adele was educated at Aquinas College Stockport. The first in her family to go to University, she attended Manchester Metropolitan University obtaining a BSC Business Studies (Hons) degree. As part of the 4 year degree she completed a Gap year with Hewlitt Packard.

She has one sibling, Michelle Nunkoo (nee Barchin), who is the Senior Director for UK/I Presales for Dell.

Career

After graduating in 2000, Adele rejoined the Hewlitt Packard graduate scheme becoming and accredited sales professional, with responsibility for sales in the top utility companies.

Capgemini

In 2006 Adele joined Capgemini, on the ASPIRE (Acquiring Strategic Partners for the Inland Revenue) program, helping it become the largest account for Capgemini globally. The ASPIRE program accounted for  84% of HMRC’s IT spend, nearly £8bn over the programs lifespan..[1].

She became the Portfolio and Innovation Director responsible for bringing innovative thinking and SME companies into Government and in 2017 became Vice President of Sales for the HMRC account[2]

In addition Adele was a two-time winner of ACES (the global sales award 2018 and 2019) for significant sales overachievement. She was regularly quoted in many tech publications including, Technology Record, IT Pro Journal and the New Statesman[3][4][5][6][7]

Cisco

In June 2021, Adele became Cisco’s Managing Director for Government in the UK/I, overseeing the successful transformation, focused on enabling secure, next generation, citizen services for Health, Education, Blue light, National Security and Defence.[8]

Under her Leadership, the Crown Commercial Service (CCS)[9] has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cisco to help accelerate adoption of secure digital technology in central government and the wider public sector, uplifting Cisco as a strategic supplier across all of Government. Cisco have become a Top 10 strategic supplier to UK Defence and winning the Best Supplier award (Cisco) from the Department for Education in 2024.[10][11][12][13]

Through out her career she has passionately focussed on regional development, breaking down the barriers for women in business and espcially IT, helping those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and helping tackling the poverty of aspiration.[14][15][16][17][18]

Personal Life

Her husband Jonathan C. H. Every (born September 1977), whom she met at university on the same degree course. He was a partner at Accenture before setting up a boutique management consultancy firm, Greater Consulting Services in 2020. He is the second son of Sir Henry Every, 13th Baronet[19]. They married in 2004 and live in Cheshire with their 2 children.
