John W P Woodcock

Author, scriptwriter and creator of several animated cartoon series including Dino Dogs, Pirates of Baccaruda and Stories from Battataland.

John has been writing successfully for over 30 years and his experience includes developing animated television series in the UK and with Bill Melendez Productions Inc. in the US. As a simple chap his goals have always been simple too, wanting to write successful series of both humorous novels and scripts that appeal to both children and adults, as his most recent creation the Cat says: "I'm writing a trilogy of at least four books." Indeed the second book in the series a Travelogue is close to being completed.

'Getting Out' - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary - the most recent work by John Woodcock.

'Getting Out' is not what you might see everyday, for a start it is 'written' by a Cat and merely translated by me, and actually it isn't a book at all, it is a diary I do believe that it has a mass audience appeal. But before I bore you, here is a brief synopsis of 'Getting Out - Excerpts from a Cat's Diary,' is translated from the original Cat by John Woodcock and written by the Cat who of course is a much better writer, well in his view anyway!

'Getting Out' is the daily diary of The Cat who believes he has been imprisoned and his various explosive and disastrous attempts to escape, which are occasionally based on two classic films he watched when he was a kitten, 'The Great Escape,' (though sadly he couldn't get his paws on a motorbike) and the 'Colditz Story.'

The Cat is very inventive and although he finds it difficult to escape, he does manage to make his life as easy as possible, borrowing someone else's credit card and surfing the internet is one of his favourite past times, another is trying to guess who is going to do his voice over in the blockbuster animated movie that he knows will be made from his diary after publication?

When he does briefly escape, he is mistaken for the 'Beast' a large black Panther that local legend says escaped from a Zoo some decades ago and takes sheep, though where it takes them, no one seems to know.

Other books in the trilogy include:

A Travelogue People I Really Loathe, Vol. I People I Really Loathe, Vol. 2 Other Famous People's Diaries - well the bits they didn't finish! Memoirs Of A Brilliant Cat

More information (too much some would say) regarding The Cat can be found on the following website: http://www.thecatsdiary.com

Coincidentally you can also find another of John’s books ‘kindly’ (The Cat told me to write that) featured on The Cat’s website http://www.thecatsdiary.com, the book is the first in another series of little marvels called ‘The Trams of Prague,’ the first in the series is called Tram No6 The Naughtiest of Trams.

Although it is understood that a large part of the world is waiting for the fourth book in the series ‘Simon and Alexander The Cross Dressing Trams of Prague.’

You guessed correctly these are not children’s books, but then they are hardly adult, they are just good plain fun.
