Johnny Francis levins ( born 10 may 1981 in Co Kildare Ireland) is an Irish race horse trainer. He received his trainers license in 2013. He trains on the famous Curragh training grounds in Kildare.
Johnny Levins was one af three children of John Levins and his wife Breda (Murphy). Johnny snr was an army man.
Johnny levins attended the De La Sal national school less than a mile from his parents home, he subsequently attended
secondary school at The Boys Academy also in Kildare town.
Levins first started working with horses at Jimmy Groome's racing stables at the Curragh Co Kildare, and then with Kevin Prendergast.
Levins received his jockey's license and was appointed 2nd jockey behind David Casey at Charlie Swans yard in Gloughjordan Co Tipperary.
Levins retired from race riding when he was appointed assistant trainer to Shane Broderick in Rathcabbin Co Tipperary in 2007.
Levins received his trainers license in June 2013 and trained his first winner with his third runner at Fairyhouse racecourse. In his first full season he trained thirteen winners. In 2014 he trained eleven winners and recorded his first double at Dundalk racecourse. In 2015 he trained ten winners. In 2016 he has trained sixteen winners.
