Mickey Bugh

Mickey Keith Bugh (born May 21, 1983, in South Bend, Washington) is currently an assistant college baseball coach at Centralia Community college in Centralia, Washington, under head coach Bruce Pocklington. He signed with Centralia Community College in late spring of 2006. He played High School baseball at Rochester High school. He played his college ball at both Linfield College (McMinnville, Oregon) and Centralia Community College (Centralia, Washington).

[edit]Early years Bugh attended Rochester High School in Rochester Washington, and was a 3 year letterman in football, and a 2 year letterman in Baseball. He was a second team all-league member in both sports as a senior. In football, as a junior, he was a member of the school’s first 9-0 team in nearly 3 decades. By the end his senior year, he was a member of the school all-time winningest team of any class to go through Rochester High School. (8-2 in 1998, 9-1 in 1999, and 6-3 in 2000). In baseball, he was a member of the 2000 team that finished 2nd in state (junior year), and a 2-time academic state (sophomore year and senior year). He was also the team captain in baseball as a senior.

[edit]College career Bugh signed a letter of intent with Linfield College out of high school but decided to transfer to Centralia Community College just before the start of the 2002 season. He only played one season at Centralia Community College (2003 season) after losing his freshman year of eligibility when he decided to leave Linfield College. A knee injury limited his playing time at Centralia College his sophomore year. However, he was still able to manage a .300 batting average in his limited action. His career best was going 2 for 3 with an RBI in a loss to the eventual NWAACC champion Edmonds Community College, on his sophomore night.

[edit]Centralia Babe Ruth

Bugh began his career with Centralia, Washington’s Babe Ruth program. He spend 3 seasons with Centralia Babe Ruth (2004-2006). During that span he lead the Centralia All-Stars to back-to-back district titles and finished with a third place finish at state in the only two seasons that the coach all-starts in the summer. During those two summers, Bugh’s teams never lost a game in the district tournament. Before taking control as the team’s manager, the group he was assigned to had never finished higher than third in the district tournament, in any season. He would return in 2007, as a board member, as the league president.

Bugh joined the Tenino High School baseball coaching staff in 2006 as the assistant head coach of the varsity team, and manager of the JV team, under the command of head coach Brad Quarnstorm. He resigned after only one season at Tenino High School.

[edit]Centralia Community College In the late spring of 2006, Bugh left Tenino High School to join the staff at Centralia Community College to work underneath his former college skipper Bruce Pocklington. In 2007, Bugh took over as the club’s head pitching coach. He remains on the staff to date.


[edit]Nicknames Mickey Bugh goes by “Mick” and “the dude”. He adopted the name “Dude” after seeing the movie “The Big Lebowski”
