Kavango Tribes
editIn the kavango region there are five different tribes that divide the people of Kavango region. You find the Mbunza, Kwangali, Gciricu, Sambyu, Mbukushu tribe. These tribes make people to have different cultures that are almost similar. The vaMbunza and the vaKwangali people are found on the western side of the Region. The vaSambyu, vaGciricu and haMbukushu people are found on the eastern side of the Region. However all this people settle along the Kavango River. They have a certain culture on the way of getting married, greeting each other in a well mannered way. When a boy wants to marry a certain girl he first tells his parents about it and then the parents will go discuss it with the girl’s parents in a way of proposing in the behalf of a boy. After they finish discussing it then the couple to be will be allowed to get married. They way of greeting differs, some they greed in a detailed way of saying how everything and everyone is doing. Their way of dressing the traditional clothes are similar, they just differ abit on the traditional songs and the way they dance to it. Each tribe has its own chief as a leader. That’s how the Kavango region is divided.
