Joseph Gould (born 1971), noted Building Information Modeling advocate, is a voice in establishing BIM framework througought the southeastern portion of the United States that ushered in the late 21st century Building Information Modeling boom.

Biography edit

Born and raised in Fall River, MA, Gould earned an Associates Degree of Science in Architectural Drafting from New England Institute of Technology1 in 1997, and a B.Arch from the Boston Architectural College2 in 2002.

While attending college in Boston, MA, Gould worked as an intern architect with a successful Somerville, MA architecture firm - Arrowstreet, Inc3. In 2002, Gould shifted his focus to the southeastern portion of the country and moved to Dunnellon, FL. In 2003, Gould was founder of The Design Group, Inc, an architecture firm that solely focused on custom residential and interior design. Gould focused his efforts to promote the American Institute of Building Design4. Leading a team of six intern architects, Gould designed over 300 homes in the Marion County, FL area, several award winning designs in the Parade of Homes event held annually by the Marion County Builders Association5.

In 2006, Gould took a position as a Senior Associate with Cronk Duch Partners6. Gould worked as a Project Architect embracing both classical and contemporary architecture. Some examples of Goulds work can be found here - Design examples With an economic turndown in the residential market on the horizon, Gould turned to alternative opportunities within the Architetural, Engineering, and Construction Industry.

In 2008, Gould was approached by Autodesk, Inc7 to pursue a career to be an evangelist for Building Information Modeling (BIM) that would allow him to travel the country and preach the benefits of traditional CADD drafting versus utilizing BIM. Gould,current member of the American Institute for Architects8, is an Autodesk Technical Specialist focused on architecture and building information modeling (BIM) solutions.  Gould dedicates much of his time to visiting various firms and educating individuals and teams about the advantages of BIM and how firms can leverage available tools to support their business goals and move forward as innovators.

Gould is an avid member of the AIA Jacksonville Chapter and is available for BIM lectures.
