MilkBoy ...

The MilkBoy group is an entertainment and hospitality company based in Philadelphia, PA. The company, owned and operated by Jamie Lokoff and Tommy Joyner, started as a small recording studio on North 5th Street in Philadelphia in 1994. The recording studio relocated to Ardmore, PA, in 2001, and in 2006 Lokoff and Joyner opened their first coffee shop and music venue, MilkBoy Coffee, on Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore. MilkBoy Philadelphia, a full bar and music venue, opened in August, 2011.

In January of 2012, the recording studio and company headquarters relocated back to Philadelphia, moving into Larry Gold's The Studio at 7th and Callowhill Street and rebranding as MilkBoy the Studio. Notable performers who have played in the Ardmore coffee shop include Scot Sax, Sharon Little, Eric Hutchinson, Melody Gardot, Robert Hazard, and Jeffrey Gaines.

Notable performers who have played at the Philadelphia venue include Craig Finn, Skrillex, Jesse Malin, The Kalob Griffin Band, Leslie Hall, Zee Avi, Le Butcherettes, We Are Augustines, Youth Lagoon, Lisa Hannigan, Alan Stone, Asher Roth, and Spacehog.

Notable artists who have recorded at MilkBoy the Studio include Dave Matthews, Gomez, John Legend, Tori Amos, Queen Latifah, Young Jeezy, The Roots, Asher Roth, Patti LaBelle, Marsha Ambrosius, B.O.B, Jazmine Sullivan, and The Philadelphia Irish Folksong Society. The studio also produces commercial work and audio services for films, and Joyner and Lokoff are currently producing their first movie, currently in pre-production: Bad Boys Crazy Girls.

In 2009 the group launched a crowdfunding platform: www.feedthemuse.net.

In 2010 started construction, consequential protests by the carpenters' union. Protested until spring 2012.
