James L. King III is a pianist, educator, composer, and publisher. He has a varied collection of works, from film scores to miniature works for starting and developing pianists. He is the author and editor of Learning the Code, a piano method whose first book is available under a copyleft license. He is published with the FJH Music company and with Alijam Music. Mr. King holds degrees in music theory and composition from Furman University and the University of South Carolina. He was an instructor at the College of the Florida Keys for over 10 years, and maintains a private studio of 30 students at Island Guitar, a local music store in Key West, Florida.
