Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL, Arabic: جمعية مصارف لبنان) established in 1959, the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) is a professional industry association.

The association seeks to achieve the following goals :  

  • Strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the member banks through developing a common vision for the higher interest of the sector.
  • Representing the profession and collectively defending the interests of the banking sector.
  • Highlighting the pivotal role of banks in promoting the national economy, by providing an important part of the financing needs necessary to stimulate and stimulate growth.
  • Work with the relevant authorities to create and develop regulations and enact legislation to ensure the development of the banking profession, and to express opinion on projects and laws related to financial and banking affairs.
  • Highlighting the positive image of the banking sector with the local and foreign public opinion, through a persistent, objective and multi-media media effort.
  • Raising the level of banking performance by improving the competencies of human resources working in this sector, increasing their qualifications on an ongoing basis, and creating a climate of continuous understanding with sector users in order to preserve the stability of employment in it and the common interest of all production partners.
  • Seeking closer cooperation with banks in all other countries, especially brotherly Arab countries, in everything that would achieve the goals of the association.
