About Me
editHi, my name is Michael Hayes. I am currently a full-time student at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. It is a mid-size school but is rapidly becoming a large scale university. Some consider it a party school but its really a decision you make when you get here. Statesboro itself is a small town much like my hometown of LaGrange, GA.
Some current interests for me are playing basketball, golf, and keeping up with my studies. I'm currently a business major in my second semester freshman term. I love a good range of music from classic rock to country.
What I have given to Wikipedia
editSo far I have contributed an article on Phil Mickelson's biography and story behind his first major win on the PGA Tour in the 2004 Master's. It is called One Magical Sunday: (But Winning Isn't Everything) and its written by Donald Phillips. I hope to extend my contributions list further in the future.
Technology & Me
editI'm not much of a technology guy. I do use a bunch of stuff that is high tech like a laptop and my Xbox 360. I can do some mechanical fixes on my computer but if it gets to a certain point i have no idea what I'm doing. I do love technology but i know nothing about it.
Feelings about Wikipedia
editI had never really had good thoughts about Wikipedia until this class because every English teacher that I previously had would tell me that Wikipedia was bad and to never use it because anyone could just go on there and write anything that they wanted and just save it. So I didn't use it because i didnt think the information was going to be accurate. Once I started this class I was a little skeptical that I would be able to handle the Wikipedia stuff because I had negative thoughts about it. Now I have come to learn that Wikipedia is a great resource and I feel comfortable using it.
Languages
editI only speak English because I was born in Georgia but I have taken some Spanish classes so I know some of the Spanish language.
