John Edwards
Biography edit
I am a retired academic living in Milngavie on the northern fringe of Glasgow, Scotland. My BSc was in Biochemistry, at University College London, in the late 1950s a course strongly underpinned with physical chemistry and mechanistic organic chemistry. My research in the former Department of Cell Biology in the University of Glasgow was predominantly concerned with cell adhesion of mammalian cells. I was involved in teaching in and administration of the degrees in Cell Biology and in Molecular Biology and shortly before retiring was responsible for their merger into Molecular and Cellular Biology.
