Shane Dawson is a YouTube comedian who does spot-on parodies and comedy sketches.[1] His main account, ShaneDawsonTV, is YouTube's 5th most subscribed all time and his behind the scenes account, ShaneDawsonTV2, is ranked 13th most subscribed,[2] closely following Ryan Higa and Philip DeFranco.[3] His videos were watched more than 204 million times.[4]
Creation
editAll week, Shane Dawson works on his videos that are uploaded to YouTube every Saturday. On Monday, he writes the script. Tuesday and Wednesday are for props and production. On Friday, he promotes by tweeting on Twitter and advertising with YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook. He then uploads his finished video on Saturday.[5]
Criticism
editMany YouTubers say Shane Dawson should be suspended by breaking the YouTube for violating the community guidelines; “Why hasn’t ShaneDawsonTV been suspended?” is in the top 10 of the most popular thread in the YouTube Creator's Corner forum.[6]

editAs of 2010, Shane Dawson has been nominated for a lot of different awards, some of which he has won. One of the biggest he's been nominated for, is the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, along with fellow Youtubers IJustine, Charles Trippy, Lucas Cruikshank best know for his Fred character, and Greyson Chance. Which he won, in the Web-star Category.
