Company Information

edit

BrightPath is a North Carolina certified provider of in-class and online distance education courses for real estate appraisers and professionals[2]. BrightPath is also certified by The International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC).[3]

A privately held company, BrightPath Education Services is headquartered in Wake Forest, North Carolina[4]. BrightPath is owned and operated by Executive Director Mel Black and School Director Erin Tracy Black. Brian Handly is the current CEO.

Services

edit

BrightPath provides education for three different professions: Appraisers, Real Estate professionals, and mortgage loan originators.

In order to become a Certified Residential Appraiser, individuals must take a minimum number of hours of preparatory classes to conform with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).[5] For Appraisers, the company offers pre-licensure classes[6] that directly prepare individuals for the qualifications established by the Appraiser Qualification Board (AQB).[7]

For Real Estate professionals, the company offers pre-licensing education designed for the adult learner that prepares the learner for the state licensing exam.[8]

For Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO), the company offers pre-licensing education and preparation for the National Loan Originator Test which is mandated by the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).[9] Because continuing education is required for these three groups, BrightPath offers in-class or on-line continuing education for all three groups of people.
