Improving Existing Article edit

Leo Kanner Wikipedia Page: Add citation to all quotes (especially in first paragraph), add more information to "Life in the United States", add section on educational background, re-structure "Studies of Autism" section so that it is easier to read (not one big paragraph), and add a section for rewards.

What I want to Contribute to Leo Kanner edit

I would like to rewrite/reorganize the section on Kanner's study of autism. That section is currently very jumbled and not well organized. Furthermore, I would like to add more information about Kanner's personal life.

Specific Things to Add edit

  • Separate "Life and Career" into distinct sections. Particularly information there should be more information added about Kanner's personal life in this article
    • Edits to Personal Life section
      • Leo Kanner, the only child Clara Reisfeld Kanner and Abraham Kanner, was born as Chaskel Leib Kanner in Klekotow, Austria in 1894.[1][2]
      • As a young boy, Kanner wanted to pursue a career in poetry but could not get his work published.[2]
      • In 1913, Leo Kanner graduated from the Sophien Gymnasium in Berlin. [1] He then attended the Staatsexamen, graduating in 1919, and then enrolled at the University of Berlin.[2] However, his medical education was interrupted by World War I and he briefly went to serve in the military. After the war ended, Kanner resumed his education and received his medical degree in 1912.[2]
      • Kanner received position as a senior physician at the Yankton State Hospital in South Dakota upon his arrival to the United States.[1]
    • Edits in the Career section
  • Achievements and Awards Section
    • Received Stanley Dean Award in 1965.[3]
  • Add more information to "Life in the United States" Section. Most of Leo Kanner's career was in the United States. Certainly, this section should outweigh the "Life in Berlin" section.
  • More Pictures! This article only has one picture of Leo Kanner
