20 Minute Loop were an indie-pop band from San Francisco, California, from 1996 to 2009. The band, at their end in 2009, consisted of Greg Giles, Kelly Atkins, Nils Erickson, Adam Cunha, and Mike Romano. They released 5 albums, one of which notably received a 8.5 on the website Pitchfork.
History
editThe band was formed in 1996, when Greg Giles gathered together a small group of musicians - himself, Kelly Atkins, James Kingsbury,Alex Kamages, and Piki Chappell - to record and release his first album. (The album was not released under the band name, but is generally regarded as a 2ML album.) Soonafter, their unofficial debut album, a 4 song E.P. titled 'With God on The Dog Team Trail', was released, on New Years Day, 1997.
After some shuffling of members, and some time spend writing and in the studio, the band's self-titled official debut album, '20 Minute Loop', was eagerly picked up by Fortune Records, and released in 1999. It garnered some press response, but not a notable amount.
