I am an astronomer working at Leiden Observatory in the Netherlands. My scientific interests are the evolution of galaxies, the determination of the fundamental parameters of galaxies, statistical methods in their analysis and quite a bit more. I am also fascinated by linguistics, history, archaeology, geology and nature in general.
