Hurricane Huron

edit

Hurricane Huron is the name commonly given to a large cyclonic storm system that developed over Lake Huron in 1996. It had some characteristics of a tropical cyclone.

Storm History

edit

An intense low stalled over the Great Lakes, starting on the 11th of September 1996, when the lakes were at their peak temperature of 70 degrees Farenheit. The low developed and deepened, and seemed to have taken on warm-core characteristics by the 12th. It developed a clear eye and eyewall, with spiral rainbands, and at its peak had tropical storm-equivalent winds.
