Fiord Clothing is a British surf wear and apparel brand founded by Tyler Shannon on Friday 30th June 2017 [1]. Fiord Clothing began in the small seaside town of Torquay with the idea of creating affordable, high quality and eco-friendly surf inspired apparel. The name 'Fiord Clothing' was derived from the word 'Fjord' in The Netherlands. Founder Tyler Shannon said "I chose the name because I think Fjord’s are elegant and bespoke natural creations." [2]

In August 2017 the first apparel prototypes were designed and created for marketing analysis. Fiord Clothing then placed the prototypes into a retail store called Jibset Marine. Founder Tyler Shannon said "We predicted that the women's apparel would sell out before the men's, to my amazement the men's sold out before the women's and this was only within a couple of weeks [3].

It is also the date the UN General assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child [5]. Fiord Clothing have recently released a press release, in the release the company say "We strongly believe in the work that UNICEF are doing to provide millions of children around the world suffering from malnourishment and lack of education with aid and support. That's why as a company we have voted unanimously to organise a mufti-day with eighteen schools around the Torbay area. Details are yet to be disclosed at this time, but we are confident that World Children’s Day will help inspire change to the future generation of the world." [6] .
