Fenda de Tundavala,or The Tundavala Crack as it is known in english, is a volcanic fissure located 15 kilometres north west of Lubango, the capital of the Huila province in Angola. The crack covers an estimated area of 4000 hectares and has an altitude of about 2200 metres. It is one of the main tourist attraction in the central town due to its amazing features.Apart from the view of sheer cliff [1] faces that are metres high, the area includes patches of forest, open savanna and montane grasslands.Streams run along along valleys that formed deep in the crack, providing water for a wide variety of trees and grasses. The combination of these, plus patches of dry woodland provide a large range of bird habitats within a relatively small area.
