I am a musician and self-styled scholar, based in a well known English university. I will do my upmost (when possible) to improve the quality of music articles that I have some knowledge of. Some areas of interest:
- Complexity (old and new!);
- Formalism/Structuralism;
- specifically late Beethoven, but a general interest in his life;
- the music of Michael Finnissy;
- notions and ideas of expressivity in music;
- extra-musical expression;
- Post-war Modernism/Postmodernism;
- The piano music of Liszt;
and
- some acousmatic topics and aesthetics.
