I am a senior student at Washington University in St. Louis studying evolutionary biology. I am a student in a Behavioral Ecology course that will look to contribute to a number of wikipedia pages. I am interested in a broad spectrum of topics related to Biology, and I plan to primarily edit and contribute to pages concerning animal behavior.

Thrips edit

Hey there and welcome to wikipedia! I note that you just added yourself to the Thrips page as a reviewer hoping to bring it up to GA status. Glad to see you there, and will be willing to work with you. As you are currently in a behavioral ecology course, I'd be happy to toss a few references regarding the eusocial galling thrips of xeric Australia in your direction. They are a weird polyphyletic group who seem to have evolved similar eusocial traits and "soldier" castes in response to similar environmental pressures. They make for a great term paper at the end of the semester - I speak from personal experience. Aderksen (talk) 22:43, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
