My name is Jared. I'm a professional software engineer and amateur English enthusiast from the United States. I've tried my hand at creative writing and found I am terrible at it, but the language itself fascinates me. I've always striven for perfect grammar, even though such a goal is impossible with a living language. If you see one of my edits with incorrect grammar, please notify me if I haven't already thanked you! As passionate as I am on the topic, I would never claim to be correct 100% of the time, and every time I see myself corrected, I get a little bit better.

When it comes to the English Language, my purview lies almost entirely with American English. I will make every attempt to adhere to the Wikipedia Manual of Style's policy on national varieties of languages, though as a human, I will certainly make many mistakes, especially mistakes cause by simple ignorance of other national varieties. (Did you know what Americans call parentheses are commonly referred to a brackets? I just learned that a couple days ago.) If you find one of these mistakes, and you see I am the one that made it, please let me know so I can try harder to get it right the next time.
