Johayra is Ph.D. candidate in the developmental psychology program at the University of Miami with an expected graduation of May 2018. Earlier in her career, she earned a Masters in Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from the University of Miami as well.
Her research interest involve examining the relationship between family engagement and school readiness outcomes for bilingual Head Start children. Additionally, she is interested in developing interventions with teachers, and families to enhance Head Start children’s social emotional and academic skills. She is also interested in developing reliable and valid measures that can be used programmatically to monitor progress.
