I believe that cited information, unless absolutely trivial or untrue, has a place in most wikipedia pages. Like in academic literature, readers can pass judgment on the citations and the credibility of the citations as they read. I dislike when people pass judgment on citations by deleting information until a wikipedia page fits their image of the subject or subject matter. I believe wkipedia should be about information rather than any particular author's take on a subject. We need information in order to form opinion and if that information, when valid and accurately cited is being removed, we are doing everybody a disservice.
