"Animal Assisted Education" Animal Assisted Education, or AAE, uses the comfort of animals to help educate children. There is a handler for the animal, and both animal/handler are under the leadership of the teacher's curriculum and have been evaluated/tested by a national therapy dog registry. Animal assisted education has the potential to be measurable by means of school and state standardized tests. Animal Assisted Education can reach its full, professional potential when the animal is thoroughly trained and the handler is a state certified professional, thereby becoming a trusted member of the school's support staff.
