WikiFundi is the software that allows you to create Wikipedia articles offline.
WikiFundi allows you and your friends to create new articles, and work on them together, without needing access to Internet. You can only work on these articles when you are with in range of the server hosting WikiFundi and only when it is switched on.
Once you are happy with your article, then you will be able to copy and paste these completed articles into the main online Wikipedia space. Your contribution will be on Wikipedia for everyone to see. Naturally, you need to be connected to the Internet to copy your contribution onto Wikipedia !
Feel free to also use WikiFundi to collaboratively edit a text, a report, a story.

How to create and modify pages
WikiFundi is a wiki, which means you can modify all pages by clicking on the "edit" button at the top right of each page.
If you need help on how to do that and on the syntax to use, please check getting started. You may also choose to experiment in the Sandbox.
Ask at the Baobab
Across the continent, the baobab tree is traditionally used as a place to hold important discussions that affect the community. On this page you can discuss any tasks or questions you have the editing process that can be answered by your facilitator or your friends or fellow students. There are no foolish questions!

WikiChallenge African Schools
Hello teachers and students! You might have come to WikiFundi as part of a Wikimedia training or event with local volunteers, or you might be part of the WikiChallenge African Schools by the Orange Foundation.
If you are interested in joining the writing contest, this section will provide ideas and resources on working on the articles for the WikiChallenge African Schools 2017. It is divided into two sections:
- a corner about the challenge - where you will find information about the contest, how to enter, guidelines and what prizes your school could win.
- a corner for the teachers - filled with resources, ideas and guidelines for the WikiChallenge and beyond.
Writing contest corner
In 2017, a writing contest will take place in seven countries across Africa. Your school can take part ! In this section of the software you can find out what kinds of articles you can write to enter the contest. The competition is a fun introduction to writing Wikipedia articles and will add information about Africa to the global online encyclopedia.
