Early Life

edit

Born Isabelle Amarachi Ugochukwu on the 7 October 1985 at Enugu Teaching Hospital in Enugu State Nigeria, Isabelle is the last of four children born to Francoise Ugochukwu (nee Parent), an internationally recognised professor, author and linguist, and Clifford Ugochukwu who worked as a head teacher and civil servant. Her parents’ occupation allowed a moderately comfortable upbringing for Isabelle and her siblings Emilie, Marie-Anne and Philippe. And so she grew up in Nigeria and when she was aged ten, her family moved to London and then subsequently to Preston, Lancashire, where she spent the remainder of her time before leaving home at eighteen to go to the University of Glasgow to pursue a career in Medicine. A chance encounter led to a change of heart and a new found passion for Business and this led her to continue her studies by completing a Biochemistry degree with a side major in Business. She then went across town to the Glasgow Caledonian University where she studied International Project Management which ultimately led her back to London and into a corporate career as a Project Manager.
