Illinois Men's Club Hockey Team

The Illinois Men's Club Hockey Team is a Registered Student Organization (RSO) at the University of Illinois. The University does not have an NCAA varsity team and thus the club team is the highest level of hockey offered by the University. They are a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), which is the largest club college hockey league in the United States, the University of Illinois has been a member since its founding in 1991. There are currently 53 registered teams in Men's division 1. The ACHA also has Men's division 2 and 3 along with Women's division 1 and 2.

The team is also a member of the Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL) within the ACHA. The CSCHL was formed in 1970. The University of Illinois joined in 1975. The 9 members of the CSCHL are as follows: Eastern Michigan University, The University of Illinois, Iowa State University, Kent State University, Lindenwood University, The University of Michigan-Dearborn, Ohio University, Robert Morris University (Chicago), and Western Michigan University.

  • Chad Cassel - Inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame (2007). Winningest coach in Illini Hockey history with a record of 326-104-14.
