If someone tells you to stop doing something, stop it.

Why should I?

edit

When someone tells you to stop doing something, that person is probably aggravated by some action you have done on Wikipedia. Why should you? Well, here are a number of things that may happen:

  • This does not mean warning you is an illegal activity
  • A ban being applied onto you
  • If you're not an admin yet, but want to be, many opposes may appear
  • However, if after the conflict, you resume editing constructively, these past activities may not be taken into consideration

There are many other punishments possible that the community may think up of; i.e. this list is incomplete.

What should I do then?

edit

Talk constructively at the appropriate talk page and ask appropriately what you're doing wrong and why you should stop. Be sure to be civil and use appropriate etiquette. If consensus can still not be reached, you can take appropriate steps in dispute resolution.
