Since it is so complicated and wikipedia already has articles on the individual companies in some cases, I'll be using my scratch pad until such a time that it is coherent enough for other people to use. Regulations edit

All natural gas pipelines in the United States are regulated by FERC. As part of their regulations they are required to also have an electronic bullitin board to give out information on the web.
