Ian as Nion clown

Ian A. Wallace, performer and painter, creative collaborator with Richard Pochinko[1] from 1967 to 1989, in the evolution and development of what has come to be called the Pochinko Mask/Clown technique.


Born in Edinburgh, Scotland 1944, ian emigrated with his family, father Archibald, mother Barbara and younger brother Douglas, in 1951 on a German liner S.S. Homeland bound for Halifax and New York on it's final voyage. From Halifax they travelled across Canada by train for 4 days to arrive at the small prairie city of Edmonton, Alberta, where they were welcomed by Archie's brother Jack and family. Ian attended Riverdale school and eventually graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Math and Art.
