Tr@ffic! (Samuel Levi Iyemba), a Congolese artist currently based in South Africa, born in Kinshasa but raised up in Brazzaville while having studied there from primary school to high school, started writing at the young age of 9. This was a daily habit which was encouraged to be taken further by his grandfather and father , which have always been his biggest motivaters. At the age of 11, he had written something which he had then presented to his peers at school. Based on the level of greatness what he had written was made of, he was accused of plagiarism.
Their doubt alone from that day became the encounter he had been waiting for ,and since that very day, he had a new found passion for music. After having arrived in South Africa in the year 2016 , he was later introduced to a studio called "Marlia's record". It became a usual occurrence to go down to the studio from time to time up until he had finally gotten the opportunity to record , which then lead to the development of his skills.
Before going by the name of Tr@ffic!, he first went by the name Samy King and Oreo jack. Later , at some point , he took a decision to go by the name Tr@ffic!(Traffic) ,which has a sense ambiguity. It could refer to the illegal trading of goods,the congestion on the road or the messages or signals transmitted through a communications system.
The messages or signals transmitted through a communications system is the meaning that inspired the name , as his aim is to spread a message through his lyrics and connect with listeners. The name seems to have brought a shimmering light into his career as an artist , seeing as ever since he chose the name Tr@ffic! ,things have moved so much quicker in his gradual progression. He has made many contacts and connections, has multiple features for artists in the US as well as in other parts of the world and has been active since November 2019.
Kalabo da1st ,which is one of the artists Tr@ffic! himself usually works with, have together formed a team that moves and promote other upcoming artists. Apart from the fact that they strive to be the voice to the voiceless ,they themselves are also making multiple tracks together ,while still maintaining their positions as solo artists. The journey thus far has been truly memorable for Tr@ffic as he has made loads of progress. Despite the progress, he still feels he has much room to grow seeing as he has only been active since November 2019.Regardless, he still feels he has managed to achieve what many upcoming artists have not and he only hopes to reach higher heights from here on out in the near future
