Formation and growth

edit

In 1943, Cody Fowler, an attorney with Macfarlane, Pettingill, Macfarlane & Fowler and Morris White, an attorney with Mabry, Reaves, Carlton & White left their respective firms to form the partnership of Fowler and White in Tampa, Florida.

Both men were very active in community service and pro bono efforts. They believed that there was more to practicing law then handling cases, and that community service allowed the firm to meet and establish relationships with future clients while staying in tune with community.

In 1950, in order to better serve their gorwing client list, the firm opened a Miami office. In 1952, Henry Burnett would join the firm and was the seconed attorney to be based in the Miami office.
