Onesi SSS is associated with around 600 learners and 25 teachers, it is also a hostel school:most of the learners in Onesi SSS live on campus. This is a great benefit for learners, as they are full time students and have the opportunity to study in the afternoon and evening during study sessions. Because Onesi is a secondary school –it is estimated that Namibia has far fewer secondary schools than schools that do not offer grades 11s and 12s –, Onesi is equipped with continual electricity, copiers, textbooks, and a decent stock of other supplies. Thus, there is a nice school community at Onesi constituency, and plenty of opportunity to interact with and enrich the learners. The learners who attend Onesi SSS are mostly from rural areas like Eunda,Enkalashe,Ombome,Onuukuti,Okasheshete,Etunda etc,so they don't have a great education up until their enrollment at Onesi SSS. Learners are eager to meet different challenges but they are inspired by their teachers to achieve, and so teaching and engaging learners at Onesi has been both a great and difficult experienced and this sentiment is also felt by other volunteers who teach at more rural secondary schools like Onesi.

At least all the teachers at Onesi SSS live in houses on campus. They are small but nice houses with 2 or 3 bedrooms, a living room area, and a kitchen area. While most are located together in one corner of campus, a few are located closer to the girls and boys hostels. The principal,Mr Simeon Kavila who is also the president of (NANTU) and other teachers at the school are understanding and are supportive of all teachers having comfortable living situations.
