My village (Kalizo)and the Zambezi river.
My village is situated in the Caprivi region,20 killometers away from our region town Katima Mulilo, are our mother tongue is Silozi and Subia, its a very friendly place where anyone would love to be, nowonder God choose it to be my home.
My village is blessed with one of the big well known rivers in Namibia, the Zambezi river. Most of our dailly food is from that river as it holds a large amout of different types of fresh fish, I thank God for this because alot of poor people in my village are able to make a living on selling this fish at our town market in Katima. still on the selling of fish they are able to send thier kids to school and pay for thier school fees, so I have no doubt to say Zambezi river is one big sourse of income in my village.
Apart from fish, the river at my village still saves as an exclusive place for refreshment, since my village is one of those in the North Eastern part that are subject to high temperatures in summer, we usually enjoy the season by swimming in our lovely river beach, mostly me and my peers. Many different kinds of parties are always held at Zambezi beach, because theres just this uniqueue fresh air that roles over Zambezi which I cant explain unless you go the and experience it yourself.
Apart from all the beuty of my village, it is still surounded by caring and loving people, even thore we might not be the richest people you will find in Namibia but the love that we have for one another helps us overcome many obstacles that we face in life, because we all understand who we relly are. Were are one of the children who respect the elders and help one another because it is part of culture. Im rely proud of who I am and most of all where Im from.
