A Life Well Lived

In Loving Memory of Mr. Jeffrey Way, a man who brought light into this dark world.

 November 11th 2007

"Life is Tough and Life is Good"

"In my life, I've found that if I concentrate on how tough life is, the goodness of life seems very small. But if I focus on how good life is, the tough parts of life seem much more manageable."

"...I will close by saying in the truest sence of the phrase to each and every one of you: "I love you." You will forever be an important part of my life. May God bless you in all you do."

We love and miss you Mr. Way

Stories From Mr. Way

edit

* We talked about mouse traps- they're easy to get into, but hard to get out of- just like the challenges in life. His brother once fell in a chicken coop and broke his arm so it bent in the middle between his elbow and wrist. His brother looked up at him and said, "Jeffrey, it is time to go home. He grew up in the country and they'd play tag in the barn and one boy would be chasing another when all of a sudden one would fall through a hole that was used to feed hay to the cows. Mr. Way had a green car with a checkered roof. It had holes in the floor so everytime he'd take someone somewhere when it was raining they had to sit in the back or they would get splashed with water. His first and only date was with a girl who is now his Wife. One of his former students had passed away because of an alcohol overdose at his college. Mr. Way had to go to his funeral and he told us, "I should never have to go to a student's funeral, you should be comming to mine." Mr. Way said that it wasn't the name or dates that mattered on a tombstone, it was the dash that matterd most. Mr. Way held bible classes at his house and he would sometimes deliver pizza to low-income neighborhoods. When the people would ask why he was giving out free pizza he would smile and say, "Because I Care"
