This is simply a listing of "unincorporated community" articles with certain keywords in the title that often indicate that the article topic is a false positive or GNIS error. This should not be interpreted to mean that the others are fine, nor does it mean that all of the ones listed here are non-notable, just that these have been selected for further review.

Spring(s) edit

Communities often grew up around springs. However, GNIS sometimes mislabels springs as communities, and some are old resorts, not communities. See User:Hog Farm/springs for an example treatment of California ones.

  1. Buffalo Springs, North Dakota - Old village, see [1]. Hog Farm Talk 05:52, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
  2. Crystal Springs, North Dakota - mainly extinct, but used to be a decent-sized village, see [2], other coverage as well. Hog Farm Talk 05:52, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
  3. Sully Springs, North Dakota
    1. Not sure about this one - topos show basically nothing, newspapers.com results confirm that there was a station and a section house (railway) here, as well as (at least briefly) a fur trading store. A number of references to people being "from" or "of" here. Hog Farm Talk 06:04, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Junction edit

Often indicates the site of a railroad or road junction. Many communities grew up along these sites, but there are also many instances of GNIS mislabeling uninhabited railroad sites or railroad features within a populated place that are not a communities in their own right.

  1. Hannah Junction, North Dakota - Railroad junction, not a community. PRODded. Hog Farm Talk 05:42, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Mobile Park edit

Trailer home parks are occasionally notable, but are often not.

  1. Hove Mobile Park, North Dakota - Apparently a former census location and even a former civil government (!), likely meets GEOLAND Hog Farm Talk 19:02, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Corner edit

These sometimes represent notable settlements, but frequently are often old property boundaries or road junctions. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Acors Corner, Virginia
