Biography

Tatjana Vasilivna Tikhonov was born In Riga, Latvia on April 10th 1984. Daughter of Rissian NHL/KHL/Sm-Liiga coach Vasili Tikhonov and Tatjana Tikhonov. Sister of KHL/NHL/Olympian Viktor Tikhonov. Granddaughter of Soviet ice hockey coach Viktor Tikhonov.

Moved to Pori Finland in 1990 when her father was named the head coach for Porin Assat in the Finnish SM-Liiga. Resided there for 3 seasons and moved to California when her father became an assistant coach for the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. Tatjana started to play ice hockey in Minnesota at the Sharks training camp. When in California she played for the Santa Clara Blackhawks on a boys hockey ice hockey team. In the late 90's her family moved back to Finland as her father was the head coach for Rauman Lukko in the SM-Liiga. She played for Porin Assat in the womens league for two seasons. In 2001 she moved to Switzerland when her father was the head coach for SC Langnau. She played for a womens hockey team DHCL for that season and graduated High School out of the International Baccalaureate School in Bern. After graduatiion she moved back to California to go to San Jose State University and worked for the San Jose Sharks with their media and game night staff. Her family went back to Russia to pursue her brother Viktors hockey career.

Tatjana "Tiki" Tikhonov owns and runs her Tikhonov Training Camp in honor of her late Grandfather Viktor Tikhonov and late father Vasili Tikhonov. She is a 3rd generation ice hockey coach.
