Introduction

Kaokoland is district in the nothern part of Kunene region and is bordered with Angola on the nothern side, Omusati region on the Eastern side, Damaraland on the southern side and Atlantic ocean on the western side. This area Kaokoland<href>[1]<href/> is a less populated area in Namibia.The area is mountainous and is known that most of the area can only be reach with fourwheel drive vihicles.Kaokoland is only having Opuwo as big town which accomodate almost five Thousands (5000) people.

Inhabitants

Kaokoland accomodate close to eighteen thousands (18000)inhabitants and mostly Himbas and hereros. This inhabitants engage themselves with farming activities such as looking after cattle, goats and sheeps as well as plaughing inorder for them to survive.The people use mostly Donkeys and Horses as some means of communication especially those who do not have other means, while others make use of vehicles.

Tourists activities

Kaokoland is known to be one the areas which attract tourist in the country because of its richness in wildlife such as different wild animals found in there to mention a few: Elephants, Lions, Zebras, Rhinos, Girafes etc, and the most important tourists attraction thing in Kaokoland is Epupa wall fall which is situated on the northern part of Kaokoland about One hundreds and eighty kilometers (180 Km) from Opuwo. During all this Kaokoland indirectly contribute to the Namibian economic growth and market Namibia globally.

The area is also driven by politics just like other places and since Namibia got independence in 1990 this area is dominated by Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA)and the area is demacated into three (3) political consituencies namely: Sesfontein consituency, Opuwo consituency and Epupa consituency among the three consituency only Sesfontein consituecy is ruled by an other party United Democratic Front (UDF) political party. The people in this area are politically matured because they accept the political diversity and treat each others as all Namibians regardless of political affiliation <href>Kaokoland politics </href>.
