Long time reader, new editor. More than anything else I'm interested in tidying things up--spelling, syntax, factual errors, vandalism, etc.. Since I'm new, please feel free to let me know if I make a mistake.
That being said, I'm most passionate about clear and precise language. Many articles on Wikipedia--articles which address fine topics and are maintained by intelligent writers--cross the line between "encyclopedia article" and "over-written collection of minutiae and obscure debates." I want a Wikipedia that is useful as a reference, not a Wikipedia that is a thinly-veiled semantic battleground between ideologues.
