A MATTER OF TIME

Over recent years we have become more familiar with the 24 hour clock format, as our adoption of this format from smartphone and other digital devices, becomes dominant.

I noted, quite by accident one particular time caught my attention. one particular time stood out. 19:59 hrs or 7.59pm (post meridian), by adding the individual digits equalled 24!

Further, this is the highest sum of digits, an expression gave clarity to this outcome: t = h1 + h2 + m1 + m2. Each variable represents the more recognisable, hh:mm or hhmm.

A further fact revealed 24 "decoded" translates to 19:59. The optimum of this result argues h2 = 9, m2 = 9, leaving the value of 6, considering h1 = could only equal "1", eg: "19". The final value of "5" automatically becomes m1 or making "59".

In conclusion, I decided to verify if other planet cycles, in our universe, could be considered to have the same factor, it becomes obvious no such day cycle produces no "sum of digits" a result equal to name the clock cycle demonstrating Earth, with this unique property!

Finally, I made the inevitable test. Undertaking a significant review of encyclopædias, educational websites - which have a tendancy to undermine the "digital age", their viability becoming considerably less as digital precedence becomes the norm.

The research to confirm my observation even with Wikipedia and other encyclopædia, seemed to be oblivious to this ironic fact. I hope the explanation and its significance, however minor, will add intrigue and perhaps encourage more to appreciate the "time" we live in.
