Windsor Windows & Doors Windsor Windows & Doors is a privately held company that manufactures windows and doors primarily for residential construction. Windsor distributes products throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.

History

Windsor was founded in 1946, and was purchased by Woodgrain Millwork, Inc. in 1987. Windsor’s headquarters are in West Des Moines, Iowa. There is an additional production facility in Monroe, North Carolina. Windsor was the first company to produce an all-cellular PVC window exterior.

Memberships & certifications

Windsor is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and Windsor products have been used in homes earning LEED Gold certification. In addition, Windsor is an Energy Star Partner, meeting guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. Products are also NFRC-rated and have earned IGCC’s Gas Fill Certification.

Community involvement

Windsor Windows & Doors is actively involved in the community. Windsor has donated products to Habitat for Humanity build projects in Iowa, as well as volunteered in the construction of new Habitat homes. Approximately 12-15 Habitat for Humanity < http://www.windsorwindows.com/InTheNews/StoriesofInterest.page?sid=24> homes each year are outfitted with windows and doors through donations from Windsor. Windsor also donated aluminum clad wood double-hung windows for an episode of the ABC television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
