editLazarus Shinyemba Ipangelwa was born in 20 June 1955 in the village called Omagongati near Ondangwa. He grew up with his father Gabriel Bututu Ipangelwa, his mother Johanna Ipangelwa, his three brothers and two sisters. Ipangelwa became the first local black person to head a commercial bank in Namibia, when he was appointed Managing Director in March 2003.At the time of his death, he was also the Vice President of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) and he was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia before he joined FNB.In March 2003 Ipangelwa was appointed as a CEO for FNB.[1]
His life
editIpangelwa grew up with his family in the small village called Omagongati. At the age of 7 years his mum and dad send him to school, he started his grade 1-7 at Omagongati primary school,after his primary school he went to Mweshipandeka Secondary school where he completed his grade 12. His family send him to go study at UK after he completed his secondary school, where he stays for 5 years. After 5 years Ipangelwa came back to Namibia, he find a job and after few years he marry. Ipangelwa was having a family of two children,a boy and a girl. In 2005 Ipangelwa's life reach an end, he left his wife, his daughter and he dies with his son.
His Foundation
editLazarus Shinyemba developed his own foundation called Lazarus Shinyemba Ipangelwa (LSI) Foundation on the 22nd of August 2003.The foundation is all about giving trophies to hunters, the interested emerging commercial farmers, communal conservancy members, farming entrepreneurs and conservationist that was held at Hilton Hotel, in Windhoek.[2] the purpose of the workshop was to educate attendees on the importance of trophy hunting as an effective form of land utilization and conservation tool.[3]
His Death
editOn the 08th September 2005 ,FNB CEO Ipangelwa dies in car crash after his Mercedes-benz veered off the road and overturned between Otjiwarongo and Otavi road. Ipangelwa died at the spot where by his son Simson Ipangelwa and the domestic worker Elizabeth Kuluku Nuuyoma were also killed after the accident. His daughter Tashiya Ipangelwa survived and she was in a stable condition after the accident.[4] to edit
