Here Come the Birds

Here Come the Birds are a five piece indie rock band from Newcastle, Australia, formed in 2005. The band members comprise vocalist Dane Bates, rhythm guitarist, pianist and back up vocalist Tom Bellamy, bassist Shaun McKay, drummer Adrian Smith and lead guitarist, back up vocalist and keyboardist Chris Stanton. Here Come the Birds have released one self-titled, independent EP in 2008, produced by Greg Stace [[1]]

Here Come the Birds won competition 2 of the national Tooheys Extra Dry uncharTED band competition in 2008 [[2]] to play the Splendour in the Grass festival and win a $20,000 indie music package.

Here Come the Birds won a national band competition through the Rock the Schools myspace [[3]] competition to play the Western Australian leg of the Rock the Schools tour [[4]] in September, 2008.
