Yohannes Gedamu
Yohannes Gedamu (Amharic: ዮሐንስ ገዳሙ; born 7 December 1984 in Gondar, Ethiopia) is an Ethiopian born academic, political analyst and writer based in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. His first book ‘Politics of Contemporary Ethiopia: Ethnic Federalism and Authoritarian Survival’ was published in July 2021 by Routledge publishing.
As a contributor to AlJazeera, The Conversation, Daily Sabah, Quartz media and many other medias, Gedamu’s articles mostly focus on current political issues on Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa at large.
Yohannes Gedamu attended Addis Ababa University for three years but left for exile before completing his studies. In the United States, Yohannes attended Georgia State University where he received all of his bachelor’s, masters and doctoral degrees in political science.
