Alegyaung is a village in the Mrauk-U Township, Sittwe District in Rakhine State, Burma (Myanmar).[1][2] It lies approximately 518 kilometres (322 mi) northwest of the former capital city Yangon (Rangoon) and 323.1 kilometres (201 mi) west-north-west of Naypyidaw, the current administrative capital of Burma. It is also located approximately 39.4 kilometres (24 mi) north-north-east of Sittwe (Akyab), the state capital of Rakhine.

Alegyaung is located in southwestern Burma. Neighbouring settlements include Sattha, which is located 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) to the northwest; Pyaungbya, which is located 3.9 kilometres (2.4 mi) to the northeast; Letwedet, which is located 4.1 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the southeast; Dabe, which is located 5.1 kilometres (3.2 mi) to the northwest; Yebya, which is located 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) to the west; Pyadai, which is located 5.6 kilometres (3.5 mi) to the north; Kulachaung which is located 5.8 kilometres (3.6 mi) to the south and Dawgwe which is located 6.4 kilometres (4.0 mi) to the northeast.
