Article Critique

I visited the white coffee article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects worth commenting on: its little information on the white coffee bean, its lack of citations, and the articles structure.

Little Information on the White Coffee Bean

After looking through the Wikipedia article on white coffee the main topic of the article was centralized around the theme coffee with whitener. Coffee with whitener is a drink made with coffee in addition to added cream or milk. However, there is a specific roast of a coffee bean that is touched very briefly in this article. White coffee has many unique properties different than a typical coffee bean. White coffee is served in many espresso shops and is growing largely in popularity for its unique flavor. I believe that this article deserves a better description of the white coffee bean.

Citations

There are some citations in this Wikipedia article, however few. At the bottom of this article there are only two listed references and after trying to proceed to one of the links I found that one is dead, making it an unreliable source. The second resource link that was listed took me to a website where I could find nothing about white coffee.  

Structure

The overall structure of this article is weak. The introduction statement and description is only one sentence long. Beneath this there are only two main headings that follow. The article goes on to list countries and the different styles of white coffee they use. I believe that this would be interesting to know and read about, however, would be better suited if there was previous information to base it upon. I also visited Wikipedia's main article about coffee and found a very large and well developed article with many sections explaining the history, unique roasts, brewing styles, and health facts of coffee. I believe that the white coffee article could be laid out in a similar fashion. 

Summary

I would rate this article as poor due to the brief information about the white coffee bean. This article lacks structure with only two main headings, I believe that there should be more specific details about white coffee beans. There are also little to no references in this article making it questionable if this is reliable information. Overall, I think that this article could be drastically improved to help readers grasp a better understanding of the white coffee bean.

Hi, my name is Hayley Senyitko and I am a student at Everett Community College. I live in Snohomish, Washington and am currently working on my pre-nursing classes in the pursuit to become a Registered Nurse. I hope to specialize in neonatal care and work with newborns/infants. I love animals and enjoy volunteering at the animal shelter when I have free time. However, my favorite animals are cats and I have two of my own. I am a coffee enthusiast and work as a barista at the moment. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family especially my younger sister Emily.
