约翰·李·克莱顿（英語：John Lee Clayton，1952年8月20日-） 是一位美國貝斯手﹑作曲家及音樂製作人。他是薩克斯風手傑夫·克萊頓 （Jeff Clayton）的哥哥和爵士鋼琴家傑洛·克雷頓 （Gerald Clayton）的父親。他在2007年和2009年分別因拉蒂法皇后歌曲《I'm Gonna Live Till I Die》作編曲以及克莱顿兩兄弟的作品《Brother to Brother》取得兩次葛萊美獎 ，他最著名的搖擺爵士單曲作品為《The Walking Bass》。

音樂生涯

克萊頓從小學已經開始學習彈奏貝斯，曾參與多組青少年樂隊的演奏。1969 年，16 歲的他報名參加了加州大學洛杉磯分校的爵士樂課程。三年後，他在音樂家亨利·曼奇尼的電視劇《曼奇尼一代》中的配樂樂隊擔任貝斯手。 1975年，他在印第安納大學音樂學院畢業，並獲得貝斯演奏文憑。

不久，他參與蒙蒂·亞歷山大三重奏組和鋼琴家貝西伯爵（Count Basie）的管弦樂團的巡演，然後在荷蘭阿姆斯特丹的阿姆斯特丹愛樂樂團擔任首席貝斯樂手。 五年後，他回到美國，並於1985 年與他的兄弟共同創立了克萊頓·漢密爾頓爵士樂團（Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra），為貝西伯爵、戴安娜·克拉爾（Diana Krall）、惠特尼·侯斯頓（Whitney Houston）等多位音樂人作曲和編曲，並擔任多個大型爵士音樂工作坊的藝術總監及國際貝斯手協會主席。
